In May, we followed the Ho Chi Minh trail, running like a silk
strip through the vast green of the mountains and forests, to the tourist
villages in the west of Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province) to explore
the pristine beauty, experience the unique cave system and the unique
cultural features of the Bru - Van Kieu people in Ngan Thuy commune...
Coi Da Village (in Ngan Thuy Commune) is located in the middle of a large
valley, surrounded by limestone mountains with many large and small caves
and clear streams. If Coi Da Village Valley used to be just an abandoned
grassland, it has now become a camping site for tourists to experience the
beautiful nature and explore the unique culture, enjoying the famous
products of the Bru-Van Kieu people.
Arriving at Cha Loi Cave, we were able to admire countless pristine
stalagmites and stalactites forming many strange shapes, evoking the
imagination of each person. The cave has an underground river with cool,
blue water and small lakes, which are home to some species of shrimp and
fish with very special transparent colors.
On the journey up to Ngan Thuy, everyone is very excited to bathe in Nuoc
Lanh stream, this is one of the ideal destinations to relax, bathe in the
stream and enjoy the nature in this land.
The name Nuoc Lanh stream comes from the characteristics of the water
flowing under the stream - cool under the hot sun of May. The clear blue
stream flows through the crevices of the rocks, impressing anyone who comes
here. The cool stream flows from the source and hits the large mossy rocks,
creating beautiful small waterfalls.
If you don't bathe, you can sit by the stream, enjoy the cool breezes of the
great forest, as if to dispel the scorching, sultry sun of summer, but also
the hardships and noise of the city.
At Khe Nuoc Lanh tourist area, visitors can experience attractive services
such as tree houses, hill houses, restaurants, water games (kayaks,
rafting), overnight camping areas... The director of the tourist area said:
Taking advantage of the available landscapes in the form of eco-tourism, we
mainly use environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo, wood,
leaves... limiting the use of cement and steel. The tourist area is invested
with the aim of synchronously developing types of tourism products on the
basis of exploitation in conjunction with the protection of natural
resources, aiming at developing green and sustainable tourism.
Not only enjoying the experience of cool waterfalls and streams or exploring
caves in Ngan Thuy, in the evening, sitting on the stilt house, we enjoyed
the specialties of the Bru Van Kieu people, listened to folk songs, and the
sounds of gongs, Pi flutes, Khsui flutes, Amam trumpets, Achung zithers...
as melodious as the sounds of the mountains and forests.
And when the night falls, the cold air from the rocky mountains spreads, in
the tourist tent, visitors indulge in a good night's sleep to recharge their
energy for the new day...
Chairman of Le Thuy District People's Committee said that since welcoming
tourists to Ngan Thuy, the life of Bru Van Kieu people has changed more and
more. In the stilt houses, the items are cleaned neatly. All the roads in
the village are kept clean. In particular, the people here have gradually
learned to do tourism with enthusiasm, friendliness, simplicity and
hospitality. Tourism also helps the people's lives to be improved better and
better both materially and spiritually.
